Football Game Preview: Burleson Elks vs. Everman Bulldogs

Burleson is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Everman a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Burleson Elks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Everman Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Burleson made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Colleyville Heritage, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Elks fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 29-27 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Elks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Panthers are ranked 70th).

Meanwhile, Everman played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 33-7 to Mansfield Summit. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.

Everman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Burleson, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Everything came up roses for Burleson against Everman when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 47-7 victory. In that game, the Elks amassed a halftime lead of 27-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
