Recap: Unity Reed Lions vs. Osbourn Park Yellowjackets
The Unity Reed Lions have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 62-43 victory over Osbourn Park on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Unity Reed also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Unity Reed's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Charles Pargo, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The matchup was Pargo's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Peyton Powell was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
Unity Reed's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Osbourn Park, they bumped their record down to 0-7-1 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Unity Reed will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Westfield at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th. Osbourn Park will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Osbourn at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
