Basketball Recap: Davie County Starts Season with Win Against Southeast Guilford + How To Watch

Davie County had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Southeast Guilford Falcons by a score of 83-73 on Tuesday.

Davie County found their leader in sophomore Noah Dulin, who went 10-for-15 to rack up 25 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Dulin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Driver, who shot 64% from the field en route to 17 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Davie County was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They racked up seven more assists than Southeast Guilford's also-impressive total of ten.

When it comes to explaining why Southeast Guilford lost, don't look at Brodie Atkins. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-11 on his way to 26 points and three steals. Jayce Brannon was another key player, shooting 71% from the field to rack up 15 points and three steals.

Southeast Guilford's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Davie County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Rowan at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southeast Guilford, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on West Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
