Preview: Springstead Eagles vs. Wiregrass Ranch Bulls
The Springstead Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Springstead is ranked 157th, while Wiregrass Ranch is ranked 136th).
Last Friday, Springstead didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Lecanto, but they still walked away with a 27-21 victory.
Meanwhile, Wiregrass Ranch put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by The Villages Charter at home to the tune of 55-14.
Luke Knight continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 309 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Kayleb Samuel was in the mix too, providing Wiregrass Ranch with two touchdowns.
Springstead has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Wiregrass Ranch, they have yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 8-2 record.
Springstead came up short against Wiregrass Ranch in their previous meeting back in September, falling 52-45. Can Springstead avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
