Volleyball Recap: Manchester Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Saige Rankin and Ryley Wall

Manchester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Fairless Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 2nd.

While Manchester ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-21, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, Manchester had strong showings from Ryley Wall, who had 17 digs, and Saige Rankin, who had eight digs and one assist.

Fairless can attribute much of their success to Morgan Burdge, who had eight digs and two aces. Burdge has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

Manchester's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Fairless, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Coming up, Manchester is taking a road trip to square off against Coventry at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fairless, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Louisville on the 27th.
