Football Game Preview: Mark Twain Tigers vs. North Callaway Thunderbirds

The Mark Twain Tigers will head out to challenge the North Callaway Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mark Twain is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Mark Twain's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Montgomery County on Friday. They were outmatched by the Wildcats and fell 38-0.

Meanwhile, after only 12 points in their last contest, North Callaway made sure to put some points up on the board against Louisiana on Friday. The Thunderbirds simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulldogs 54-0. That 54 point margin sets a new team best for the Thunderbirds this season.

Mark Twain better keep an eye on Coltyn O'Neal. He was instrumental in North Callaway's win, throwing for 157 yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 50 yards and one touchdown. Those 50 rushing yards gave O'Neal a new career-high.

North Callaway was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 415 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

North Callaway's record is now 5-1. As for Mark Twain, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Mark Twain came up short against North Callaway in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 26-20. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
