Preview: Ramsay Rams vs. Wenonah Dragons
Ramsay and Wenonah are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2016, but not for long. The Ramsay Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Wenonah Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Ramsay sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-54 win over Carver Birmingham. Given Ramsay's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Carver Birmingham is ranked 201st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Wenonah came up short against Hueytown on Tuesday and fell 79-72. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Monday (59), Wenonah still had to take the loss.
The win got Ramsay back to even at 5-5. As for Wenonah, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Ramsay didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Wenonah when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 62-58 win. Does Ramsay have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wenonah turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
