Baseball Game Preview: Sage Hill Lightning vs. Irvine Vaqueros

For the second straight game, Sage Hill will face off against Irvine. The Lightning will venture away from home to take on the Vaqueros at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sage Hill hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

On Monday, Sage Hill came up short against Irvine and fell 5-1.

For Irvine's part, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Featherston, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits Featherston has posted since back in March. Alex Cho was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Irvine has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sage Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
