Basketball Game Preview: Kinder Yellowjackets vs. Holy Savior Menard Eagles

The Kinder Yellowjackets will challenge the Holy Savior Menard Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kinder has six straight wins, Holy Savior Menard has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Kinder will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Notre Dame, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Kinder walked away with a 43-35 victory over Notre Dame on Monday.

Meanwhile, Holy Savior Menard was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 58-53 to Oak Hill.

Despite the loss, Holy Savior Menard saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Fritz Garganta almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garganta has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Procell, who posted 17 points.

Kinder has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season. As for Holy Savior Menard, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-22.

Kinder took a serious blow against Holy Savior Menard in their previous matchup back in December of 2018, falling 93-49. Can Kinder avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
