Softball Recap: Robert C. Byrd Comes Up Short

Robert C. Byrd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 18-6 to the St. Marys Blue Devils.

Khloe McAvoy was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Cadence Blake was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

Robert C. Byrd's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for St. Marys, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4.

Looking ahead, Robert C. Byrd will face off against Fairmont Senior at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Polar Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.53 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for St. Marys, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ravenswood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils are facing the Red Devils at the right time seeing as the Red Devils are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
