Softball Game Preview: Doyle Tigers vs. Albany Hornets

The Doyle Tigers will head out to face off against the Albany Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Doyle is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Bogalusa get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Albany had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Pine on Tuesday as Albany made off with a 14-0 win. That 14 run margin sets a new team best for the Hornets this season.

Doyle pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Albany, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
