Basketball Recap: Leadore Mustangs vs. Mackay Miners
Leadore played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Mackay Miners 53-23. The Mustangs have struggled against the Miners recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Leadore's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Porter Mayo, who posted six points. Mayo is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dane Piippo, who had four points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks.
Mackay was led to victory by Cooper Holt and Carter Ivie. Holt almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 16 boards, while Ivie went 6-for-10 to rack up 13 points and four steals. Roy Jones was another key player, putting up eight points.
The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Mackay, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.
Coming up, Leadore will be home for the holidays to greet Lima at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mackay, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 49-44 victory against Carey on the 17th.
