Basketball Recap: Providence Academy Takes a Loss

If Providence Academy was feeling good fresh off their 77-38 takedown of First Baptist Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Providence Academy were dealt a 61-24 defeat at the hands of the Grace Christian Academy Rams on Friday. Providence Academy has struggled against Grace Christian Academy recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Aerin Hicks was Providence Academy's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Kennedy Phillips held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with five assists.

Providence Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Grace Christian Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-8.

Providence Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-39 victory against Lakeway Christian Academy on the 28th. Grace Christian Academy has also already played their next contest (against Heritage), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
