Basketball Game Preview: Onteora Eagles vs. Rondout Valley Ganders

The Onteora Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Rondout Valley Ganders at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Onteora's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.

Onteora is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Liberty by a score of 69-62 on Saturday.

Onteora's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Luc Millenson-Wilens, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 15 points, and Ryder Bickel, who went 6 for 8 en route to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elias Formont, who posted seven points.

Meanwhile, Rondout Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Dover an easy 71-49 victory. The Ganders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 66-22.

Rondout Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Onteora, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Onteora beat Rondout Valley 58-51 in their previous meeting on December 3rd. The rematch might be a little tougher for Onteora since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
