Charleston Math & Science came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Palmetto Christian Academy 64-39. That looming 64-39 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Riptide yet this season.

Leading Charleston Math & Science to victory were Ben Gilliard and Zion King. Gilliard posted 22 points along with eight boards and three steals, while King put up 18 points in addition to six assists and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Gilliard has scored at least a third of Charleston Math & Science's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Haasawn Todd, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Charleston Math & Science pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Palmetto Christian Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charleston Math & Science will challenge Beaufort Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
