Basketball Recap: Troy Trojans vs. West Trojans
After flying high against Harmony School of Innovation last Tuesday, Troy came back down to earth. The Troy Trojans took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Trojans. Troy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as West apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
West got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Easton Rinewalt out in front who went 8 for 13 on his way to 19 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Poteet, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Troy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for West, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.
Troy has already played their next game (against Clifton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. West will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against McGregor at 7:30 p.m. West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.8 points per game this season.
