Basketball Game Preview: DSST: Green Valley Ranch Raptors vs. DSST: Conservatory Green Hornets

The DSST: Green Valley Ranch Raptors will venture away from home to face off against the DSST: Conservatory Green Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

DSST: Green Valley Ranch is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by DMLK to the tune of 70-33 on Friday. Given the Raptors' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Panthers are ranked 254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

DSST: Green Valley Ranch's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Skyyaire Russell, who went 5 for 10 en route to 15 points and four steals, and Tobe Ozoma, who made all 5 shots he took for 10 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Ozoma has posted since back in January of 2024. Tong Bot was another key player, putting up seven points along with eight steals and five boards.

DSST: Green Valley Ranch smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, DSST: Conservatory Green had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 70-59 win over the Wolves.

DSST: Conservatory Green's win came from a few key players DSST: Green Valley Ranch will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Davon Allen, who went 9 of 12 on his way to 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenny Van, who posted 14 points and three steals.

The victory (which was DSST: Green Valley Ranch's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for DSST: Conservatory Green, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

DSST: Green Valley Ranch might still be hurting after the 64-41 defeat they got from DSST: Conservatory Green in their previous meeting back in January of 2024.
