Basketball Recap: Lamar Consolidated Comes Up Short

Lamar Consolidated lost against Victoria West back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lamar Consolidated Mustangs fell 54-46 to the Victoria West Warriors. The Mustangs just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Lamar Consolidated lost, don't look at Edgar Garcia. Despite the final result, he went 10 for 18 en route to 24 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Garcia a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cedric Jones, who posted six points and eight rebounds.

Lamar Consolidated's loss dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Victoria West, their win bumped their record up to 12-16.

Lamar Consolidated will square off against Terry at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lamar Consolidated is facing Terry at the right time seeing as Terry is stuck on a 29-game losing streak. As for Victoria West, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Fort Bend Kempner at 6:30 p.m.
