Soccer Game Preview: San Diego vs. San Ysidro

The San Diego Cavers are taking a road trip to challenge the San Ysidro Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

San Ysidro better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when San Diego really get things going. San Diego never let Hoover onto the board and left with a 5-0 win on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavers.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask San Ysidro). They blew past Olympian 5-2 on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Cougars with their most commanding win of the season.

San Diego's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for San Ysidro, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-2-1 record this season.

San Diego took their win against San Ysidro in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Diego since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
