Football Game Preview: Leake County Gators vs. Noxapater Tigers + Official Tickets

The Leake County Gators will take on the Noxapater Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Leake County's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 22-0 margin over Sebastopol. The victory was familiar territory for the Gators, who have now won three matchups in a row.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Mashawn Leflore and Zechariah Washington. Leflore rushed for 195 yards and one score while picking up 10.8 yards per carry while Washington rushed for 179 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Washington is now averaging an impressive 104.1 rushing yards per game.

Leake County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 427 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Noxapater, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 46-0 win over McAdams. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Leake County's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Noxapater, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Leake County was dealt a bruising 42-14 defeat at the hands of Noxapater when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for the Gators, Jimmy Graham (who rushed for 256 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
