Stony Point and McNeil are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Stony Point came up short against Vista Ridge and fell 31-21. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mason Troyer put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 340 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Trystin Rimes was another key player, picking up 105 receiving yards and one score.

Meanwhile, McNeil lost to Round Rock on the road by a 31-17 margin on Friday.

Stony Point will need to focus on slowing down Jadon Sultz, one of several McNeil players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 58 yards and one TD, and also threw for 166 yards and one touchdown. 83 of those passing yards were hauled in by Brian Perkins.

Stony Point's record now sits at 2-2. As for McNeil, their record is now an identical 2-2.

Stony Point suffered a grim 55-30 defeat to McNeil when the teams last played back in September of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Mavericks' Jarell Gary Jr, who rushed for 118 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 66 yards and one TD. Now that the Tigers know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
