Volleyball Recap: Staples Starts Season with Loss at Home

Staples unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Joel Barlow Falcons by a score of 3-2 on Monday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Staples started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-18, 19-17.

The win got Joel Barlow back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Staples will take on Shelton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Joel Barlow, they will host New Canaan at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
