Basketball Game Preview: Crete-Monee Warriors vs. Simeon Wolverines

Having just played yesterday, the Crete-Monee Warriors will jump right back in to play the Simeon Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Crete-Monee earned a 41-32 victory over Lyons.

Meanwhile, Simeon had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 61-48 win over the Eagles. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Eagles are ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Simeon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.9 points per game. As for Crete-Monee, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.

Crete-Monee came up short against Simeon in their previous meeting back in March of 2018, falling 77-68. Can Crete-Monee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
