Recap: Jefferson Christian Academy Eagles vs. John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers
It was a good run, but the Jefferson Christian Academy Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by John Carroll Catholic on the road and fell 63-36. While losing is never fun, Jefferson Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while John Carroll Catholic is ranked 100th).
Allison Wormely and Jada Washington certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Wormely scored 19 points along with 6 rebounds, while Washington scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. The match was Wormely's seventh in a row with at least ten points.
Jefferson Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for John Carroll Catholic, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Jefferson Christian Academy will take on Oak Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Oak Grove's defense has only allowed 26.6 points per game this season, so Jefferson Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for Jefferson Christian Academy. As for John Carroll Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Altamont at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Altamont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 on Wednesday.
