Softball Recap: Caledonia-Mumford Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Caledonia-Mumford proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by six) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Avon Braves a 2-0 shutout. For the Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Braves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Not much got past Grace Beach, who gave up just nine hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Avon off the board. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Beach.

At the plate, Caledonia-Mumford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brianna Lynn, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Caledonia-Mumford is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, Avon fell to 9-1.

Coming up, Caledonia-Mumford will be playing in front of their home fans against Byron-Bergen at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Avon, they are taking a road trip to square off against Keshequa at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
