Softball Recap: Holton Takes a Loss

Holton managed to slip by Riley County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wildcats came up short against the Falcons on Thursday, falling 12-6.

Stephanie Crawford was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Faith Olberding was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Lola Snavely was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Holton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. As for Riley County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.

As of now, neither Holton nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
