Basketball Recap: Rocklin Thunder vs. West Park Panthers
Rocklin was the 83-52 winner over West Park when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Thunder took a 56-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Tuesday.
Yosheyah Alves produced another solid performance shooting 67% from the field en route to 13 points and six boards for West Park. Alves is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 57% in the last four games he's played. Parker Petracek was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.
Rocklin's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for West Park, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.
Looking ahead, Rocklin will venture away from home to square off against Placer at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Park, they will take on Ponderosa in a tournament on Thursday. The Panthers' defense better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 63 points per game this season.
