Softball Recap: Fulshear Sets Scoring Season-High Against George Ranch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fulshear). They blew past the George Ranch Longhorns 14-4 on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Chargers, who have now won five games in a row.

The team relied heavily on Ava Galaviz, who scored four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Gabriella Castillo (OSU) also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Fulshear was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Fulshear's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for George Ranch, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12-3.

Fulshear and George Ranch should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Fulshear (ranked 135th) will meet Alief Hastings (ranked 1103rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, George Ranch will face off against Alief Elsik at 6:00 p.m. on Friday up 530 places (488 vs. 1018).
