Basketball Recap: Columbia's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Columbia hadn't done well against Midview recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Columbia Raiders put the hurt on the Midview Middies with a sharp 63-41 win. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 22 points or more this season.

Midview lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Luke Jockel, who posted ten points and three steals. Jockel is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Newton, who earned nine points and five rebounds.

Columbia moved to 4-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Midview, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Columbia will be playing in front of their home fans against Oberlin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Midview, they will venture away from home to challenge North Ridgeville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Midview is facing North Ridgeville at the right time seeing as North Ridgeville is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
