Henderson is 9-1 against Carthage since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Henderson Lions will challenge the Carthage Bulldogs at 6:45 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Henderson is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to eight goals two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Kilgore on Friday. They fell 2-0 to the Bulldogs. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, while it was Carthage who put the first points on the board on Monday, it was Sabine who put up more. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Sabine who was credited with the victory. Sabine got it done in the shootout by posting seven goals to Carthage's six. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 603rd, while the Cardinals are ranked 203rd).

Carthage's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Henderson, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Henderson skirted past Carthage 3-2 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Henderson since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
