Basketball Recap: Edgar Deloera's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Little Axe over Davis

Little Axe lost against Davis back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Little Axe Indians took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Davis Wolves. The game marked the Indians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Little Axe lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Edgar Deloera, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 13 points. Deloera continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Esteban Calderon was another key player, going 6 for 13 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Little Axe's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Davis, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Little Axe will take on Chickasha in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Davis, they and Stratford will meet in a canine-themed contest at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
