SouthWest Edgecombe was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Arendell Parrott Academy on Thursday. The Cougars never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Chase Taylor was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Derrick Davis also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

SouthWest Edgecombe has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Arendell Parrott Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

Looking ahead, SouthWest Edgecombe will take on Rocky Mount in a tournament on Friday. As for Arendell Parrott Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Hobgood Charter at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
