Baseball Recap: Central Linn Takes a Loss

Central Linn extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-17. They lost 14-3 to the Mohawk Indians. The Cobras were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Ethan Fuston was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases. Those stolen bases were his first of the season.

Mohawk's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-16. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Mohawk's side, Justin Cassidy and Forrest Yarbrough were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Cassidy tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Yarbrough tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Cassidy went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run, while Yarbrough went 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Cassidy a new career-high.

In other batting news, Caleb Ogg was incredible, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Langley, who went 2-for-5 with three runs and one RBI.

While Central Linn had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
