Volleyball Recap: 11 Straight Road Victories for Brownstown Central

Brownstown Central had won 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they bumped up to 2-0 to make it 12. They put the hurt on the Bloomington North Cougars with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Braves, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Brownstown Central had a senior duo take command as Finley Wheeler had eight digs and two aces and Sophie Wischmeier had 16 kills, eight digs, and one block. Wheeler has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 38 times she's played. Brailey Teipen was another key player, getting 11 kills and one block.

As for Bloomington North, they now have a losing record of 1-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since August 19, 2021, but that streak is no more.

Bloomington North's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jenna Newby, who had 19 assists, and Ally O'Guinn, who had six digs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brownstown Central will host Providence at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bloomington North, they will be playing at home against Center Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
