Volleyball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Buchanan's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Buchanan won the last time they faced Ironwood Ridge and things went their way on Friday too. The Bears walked away with a 2-0 win over the Nighthawks.

Keira Nelson paced Buchanan's offense, picking up seven kills. Nelson were helped by Penny Garcia and Avery Dedekian, who contributed ten assists each. Peyton Truong controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

When it comes to explaining why Ironwood Ridge lost, don't look at Lydia Litkenhus. Despite the final result, she had three digs and two aces.

Buchanan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season. As for Ironwood Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-13 record this season.

Buchanan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against San Marcos on the 3rd. As for Ironwood Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Archbishop Mitty on the 4th.
