League recap: Richardson overpowering for Brethren in past week

West Michigan D league recap: 5/14/12

West Michigan D's top pitcher this week was Dylan Richardson. He won one game and struck out four batters.

Onekama has now lost four straight games, currently the longest losing streak in the league. The Portagers lost 17-10 to Mesick last week.

Brethren's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 35 hits and 17 walks to lead the league in both categories. On the season, the Bobcats have allowed just 101 hits, while striking out 165 batters. Richardson leads the Bobcats with 63 strikeouts in 49 innings.

Nathan Costello led the league with nine hits this week for Brethren. On the season, he's hitting .521 and ranks third in the league with 25 hits.

Gary Lodin was an RBI machine on Thursday, as he knocked in four runs during Brethren's 6-0 win over St. Francis
