Basketball Recap: Windsor Charter Academy Takes a Loss

Windsor Charter Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 62-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highland Huskies. The Firebirds lost against the Huskies in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 68-32 score last time.

Leading Highland to victory were Briza Flores and Paislee Watson. Flores went 6-for-9 to rack up 18 points and six steals, while Watson posted 19 points and eight steals. The dominant performance gave Watson a new career-high in points. Vivianne Chase was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Windsor Charter Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Highland, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Windsor Charter Academy has already played their next match, a 59-34 victory against Frontier Academy on the 12th. As for Highland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-49 defeat against Resurrection Christian on the 14th.
