Basketball Recap: Chiles Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Isaiah Bundrage and Gabe Parks

Chiles lost against Lincoln back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The game between the Chiles Timberwolves and the Lincoln Trojans didn't end well, with the Chiles Timberwolves falling 87-72. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Trojans are ranked 154th).

Chiles' loss came despite strong showings from Gabe Parks and Isaiah Bundrage. Parks posted 21 points, while Bundrage put up 16 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Parks' evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Randeree, who scored ten points.

Lincoln's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eric Turral, who went 6 of 9 en route to 18 points and three steals. Kingsley Mutanga was another key player, putting up 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Chiles has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Lincoln, they pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lincoln beat Chiles by a score of 60-46 on Monday.
