Flag Football Recap: Howard Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Howard ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They managed a 12-6 victory over the Rutland Hurricanes. For the Huskies, this counts as revenge for the 6-0 win the Hurricanes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.

Howard didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cheyann Clark and Nevaeh Sanders.

Howard's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10. As for Rutland, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Looking ahead, Howard will square off against Westside at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Seminoles' defense has only allowed 4.9 points per game this season, so the Huskies' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Rutland, they will head out to take on Baldwin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
