Costa Mesa can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against the Laguna Hills Hawks by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in August.

Costa Mesa was especially dominant in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 23-25, 25-16, 25-11.

Costa Mesa picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 6-9. As for Laguna Hills, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Costa Mesa and Laguna Hills could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Mustangs (ranked 800th) will meet Valencia (ranked 386th) at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Laguna Hills will take on Western at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (1096 vs. 335).
