Volleyball Recap: Riverdale Wins Going Away Against Shelbyville Central

Riverdale had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Shelbyville Central on Tuesday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win. The Warriors not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 28th (when they won 3-0).

While Riverdale won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-11, 25-22.

Alana Creasey paced Riverdale's offense, picking up 13 kills. Creasey got some help from Abby Zimmerman and her 29 assists. Zimmerman also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Mila Holt, racking up three apiece.

Riverdale is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season. As for Shelbyville Central, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverdale will head out to challenge Siegel at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Shelbyville Central, they will venture away from home to square off against Coffee County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
