Basketball Recap: Omaha North Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Omaha North's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They snuck past the Gretna Dragons with a 61-56 victory. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 72-26 win the Dragons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2022.

Omaha North's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Milani Drake, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 11 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayanna Hill, who went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Omaha North was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Omaha North's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for Gretna, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Omaha North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-63 victory against Elkhorn South on the 17th. Gretna has also already played their next match, a 48-31 win against Hastings on the 23rd.
