Baseball Recap: East Linn Christian Academy Comes Up Short

East Linn Christian Academy extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 6-8 in the process. They came up short against the Regis Rams, falling 10-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Regis, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games.

For Regis' part, East Linn Christian Academy's batters probably weren't too happy with Owen Eaton, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up a single walk). Eaton has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Korben Schumacher was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Regis: the team is 8-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tanner Lawson, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

While East Linn Christian Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
