            Volleyball Recap: Father Tolton vs. Capital City Cavaliers        
        
		
        
        
            Father Tolton was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They were a single  set away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Capital City Cavaliers. Father Tolton was not able to make up for their  defeat to Capital City from their previous meeting  back in October of 2024.
 Father Tolton started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 20-25, 25-15, 26-24,  15-5.
 Despite the  loss, Father Tolton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Mia Herman  had nine  digs and two  aces.
 Capital City was led to victory by  Danika Brase and  Emery McKim.  Brase  had 24  digs and four  aces, while  McKim  had 18  digs and two  aces. The dominant performance also gave  McKim a new career-high in assists (four).
Father Tolton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10-1. As for Capital City, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-14-2 record  this season.
 Father Tolton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  3-0  victory against Bowling Green on the 7th. As for Capital City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  match,  a  3-0  loss against California on the 7th.
