Basketball Recap: Lakeview Takes a Loss

Lakeview managed to keep up with Modoc until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Lakeview Honkers came up short against the Modoc Braves, falling 52-26. The Honkers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Modoc's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mackenzie Diven, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 13 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Diven a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Sandage, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 13 points and four steals.

Lakeview now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Modoc, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Lakeview will face off against North Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Lake will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Lakeview surely won't give up without a fight. As for Modoc, they will be taking part in a tournament against Hoopa Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
