Belfast hadn't done well against Winslow recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Belfast Lions secured a 56-50 W over the Winslow Black Raiders. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Belfast's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trevin Ripley, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ripley has scored at least a third of Belfast's points. Landon Economy was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Belfast's victory ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-2. As for Winslow, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Belfast Lions face off against the Waterville Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Belfast is facing Waterville at the right time seeing as Waterville is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Winslow, they will head out to square off against Morse at 12:30 p.m. on Monday.
