Basketball Game Preview: Leetonia Bears vs. David Anderson Blue Devils

Leetonia is 2-8 against David Anderson since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Leetonia Bears will venture away from home to square off against the David Anderson Blue Devils at 6:45 p.m.

Leetonia is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Monday. They took a hard 31-16 fall against East Palestine.

Meanwhile, David Anderson earned a 47-37 victory over Valley Christian on Monday.

Leetonia better keep an eye on Jayden Smyth. She was instrumental in David Anderson's win, putting up 20 points. The dominant performance gave Smyth a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lylah Brown, who posted 11 points.

David Anderson's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-13. As for Leetonia, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.

Leetonia took a serious blow against David Anderson in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 44-12. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Leetonia was down 27-6.
