Basketball Recap: Meghan Leonard Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat North Rowan

There's no place like home for West Davidson, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They snuck past the North Rowan Cavaliers with a 53-47 victory on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 66-63 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Davidson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Meghan Leonard, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Cooper, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards.

North Rowan lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Krisstyle Stockton, who posted 12 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Dasia Elder was another key player, putting up 17 points.

West Davidson's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points over those games. As for North Rowan, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

West Davidson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-29 victory against South Davidson on the 11th. As for North Rowan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 74-42 defeat against Lexington on the 11th.
