Basketball Game Preview: Boca Raton Christian Blazers vs. Clewiston Tigers

The Boca Raton Christian Blazers will challenge the Clewiston Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Boca Raton Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.

Boca Raton Christian is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Morningside Academy just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to the Eagles 79-74.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Joshua Good, who went 8 for 16 en route to 21 points and five steals. His evening made it 16 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Caleb Jeemias was another key player, putting up 21 points and five assists.

Meanwhile, Clewiston was beaten by Glades Central 64-31 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 668th, while the Raiders are ranked 145th).

This is the second loss in a row for Clewiston and nudges their season record down to 2-11. As for Boca Raton Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Boca Raton Christian couldn't quite finish off Clewiston in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 and fell 52-49. Can Boca Raton Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
