Volleyball Recap: Wheaton Bulldogs vs. Golden City Eagles
Wheaton lost against Golden City back in October of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wheaton Bulldogs fell 3-1 to the Golden City Eagles. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Wheaton was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Golden City work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-16, 17-25, 25-23.
Despite the loss, Wheaton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brooke Sherwood had 19 digs.
Wheaton's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-16-5. As for Golden City, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-20-1.
Wheaton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against New Heights Christian Academy on the 17th. Golden City has also already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Jefferson Independent Day on the 17th.
